The El Paso Community Foundation Jewel Box Series at the Philanthropy Theatre celebrates its sixth season with a performance of We Have Each Other, three one-acts by Felix Arenas that examine the meaning of family, on Sunday, January 20th.
As the audience comes to learn through the produce, few things are as important as a family— the one you're born into, the one you choose, or the family that chooses you. Every family comes with its own struggles, and this trio of one-acts by Felix Arenas explores those issues and how we feel safe within that family. Arenas, a frequent member of the theatrical community of El Paso, has been seen in local productions such as Telling El Paso – Our Veterans, Their Stories.
The venue for this production, the Plaza Theatre Performing Arts Center, is conveniently located in downtown El Paso-just a brief walk from the Judson F. Williams Convention Center and the Abraham Chavez Theatre. As one of the remaining atmospheric theaters in the United States, The Plaza conveys the illusion that viewers are seated outdoors in a Spanish courtyard. In addition to the 2,050-seat Kendall Kidd Performance Hall, the Plaza Theatre features the 200-seat Philanthropy Theatre and the Alcantar Sky Garden, a delightful rental venue for private receptions, business parties, and family gatherings.
